Herbert Adams was born 1874 and died 1958. He did have a pseudonym, Jonathan Gray, though not of huge bibliographical importance. He had two main series characters, Roger Bennion and Jimmie Haswell, with Bennion being the most popular. He is, perhaps, best known today for his golf based mysteries which provide the base for his continued collectability. The first book was The Secret of Bogey House and was published in 1925 with the authors last published work being published in 1958. |
