Reginald Hill, born 1936, is one of Britain's leading modern crime fiction writers. He is primarily known for his classic detective duo Dalziel and Pascoe. This pairing enjoyed success amongst readers almost from the start. Subsequently a whole new raft of readers and collectors were made aware of just how good these books are by the very successful television series that has been shown across the world. They first appeared in 1970 in A Clubbable Woman, published by Collins Crime Club and have continued for over 35 years. Hill is a very prolific author, not only writing the above series but also non-series and various pseudonyms as well. Historical fiction under the name Charles Underhill and mystery-thrillers under Dick Morland and and Patrick Ruell. We cannot recommend this author too highly. In the unlikely event of you not being familiar with his work, do yourself a real favour and take the time to read a couple, you'll doubtless become hooked. Collectors may also be interested to know that interest not only continues to be strong but also appears to be steadily strengthening all the time |
